Light and Form

Light describes an object, but it also tells you about the space its standing in. Sculpture needs good lighting to show it’s form, so I wanted to look at how to pull the light around the sculpture, even with the light is poor. I’ve done this using flat planes on a curve.

The sharp line created by the planes, highlights the point where the light and shadow meet. The technique clearly breaks this down the effect of light on the form, creating lines like in a drawing.
